Thanks for stopping by friends!

We know rhyming is important for children or there wouldn’t be a million children’s books written with a rhyming structure!

“A Fly Went By” and “One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish” are my two favorite rhyming books to read when I introduce and teach the concept of rhyme. I love these books because there are lots of words on each page that rhyme and it really reinforces the musical sound of rhyming.

1 2 fish wish

“Pout-Pout Fish” and “Goodnight Moon” are my two favorite rhyming books to read when I focus on finding and discussing TWO words that rhyme together on a page.

Also, when I am working on rhyming with my little learners, I make sure to read books that do NOT have a rhyming structure. I do this because it helps them to decipher if the words in the story rhyme or not.
